Spirulina

Spirulina is a microscopic plant that grows in fresh water. Known as a superfood, Spirulina is actually called micro-algae and it has proven to be a far superior protein source than beef, as it contains a much healthier mineral balance (such as magnesium) that just isn't found in beef.

Spirulina contains Chlorophyll and it is thought that together they can reverse cancer in the human body. These superfoods have been clinically shown to demonstrate stunning preventive and curative properties when it comes to a number of cancers. Spirulina also contains a high content of essential fatty acids such as GLA that are often missing from everyday diets and yet these fatty acids are critical for healthy brain function.

Spirulina Nutritional Elements:

  • High-quality complete protein that is denser and more digestible than animal-derived proteins. (Chlorella is 58% protein.)
  • All the known B vitamins, including vitamin B12 which is rarely found in plants.
  • Vitamin C.
  • Vitamin E.
  • Macrominerals: calcium, magnesium, zinc, potassium and many more.
  • Trace minerals.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids including GLA.
  • Mucopolysaccharides.
  • Beta-carotene.
  • Nucleic acids (RNA & DNA).
  • Chlorophyll.

Spirulina Is Beneficial For:

  • Those who consumer large quantities of animal protein (the micro-algae protein, in contrast, is easier to digest and offers a far healthier balance of minerals)
  • People who eat refined or processed foods
  • People who take prescription drugs (spirulina protects the kidneys and liver)
  • People who are overweight or obese
  • People who engage in physical exercise and / or strength training

Cautions:

Spirulina is a natural food and is not linked to any significant adverse effects. Due to its detoxifying properties it is best to start with a low dosage and gradually increase the dosage to avoid any detoxification symptoms.

Possible detoxification symptoms include: Headache, fatigue and flatulence. These symptoms should cease within 24-48 hours, however many people do not suffer any detoxification symptoms at all. Ensure you drink plenty of filtered water and eat a healthy diet to support your body's detoxification efforts.
